An electronic incentives program such as PBIS Rewards is incomplete unless there are ways for students and families to keep track of their earnings and progress. The PBIS Rewards apps, the Desktop Portal and the Student Portal helps to keep everyone — teachers, office staff, students, and parents/guardians — involved.
Motivated students are crucial to the success of any incentive program, and knowing this, we created two ways students can stay connected. Students can track their progress by using the Student Portal or the PBIS Rewards Student App (available in Google Play, the iOS App Store, and the Amazon App Store). The Student Portal is a simple web interface students can use when they have access to a computer. To login to the Student Portal, students simply enter their school code and Student ID number. The PBIS Rewards Student App allows them to use a smartphone to scan their ID badge or their friends’ badges and displays the same information available in the Student Portal. With the app and web portal, students can see:
- Student point totals
- School store items and privileges they can earn and work towards earning
- List of school events
Because families can be an extremely important part of the success formula for a student, the PBIS Rewards Family App allows parents/guardians to instantly see how their children are doing within the PBIS Rewards program. With this PBIS Rewards app, parents/guardians can see:
- Point earnings
- Referrals
- Items purchased, privileges purchased, and events registered
We think that each feature on the Family App is helpful in keeping parents/guardians involved in their child’s school lives. By seeing how students are doing with respect to points earned each day, families can offer encouragement and praise. Additionally, parents/guardians may spot a concern if they see that their child is earning fewer and fewer points each day. Instantly knowing if your child receives an office referral is useful for obvious reasons, and we think helping families keep an eye on items purchased is also beneficial. With the hustle and bustle of modern times, keeping track of your student’s progress in school at the touch of a button is a must!
PBIS, as a schoolwide initiative, is a great way to create a healthy culture within schools. We’ve created ways to keep families and students involved, because that simply increases the odds that success will happen.
