How does complaining affect your school’s climate and culture? That’s the focus of the Louisiana Association of Principals 67th Annual Conference, taking place September 9-11, 2018.
Schools look to their principals to define and promote school culture. It is through this leadership that a school thrives or fails. It is important to address issues in a positive manner.
Creating Positive School Culture
Mindfulness and positivity can change any organization for the better. When a school eliminates unproductive complaining and focuses instead on positivity and action, it improves school climate.
Keynote speaker Will Bowen understands how complaining affects businesses, schools, and other groups and organizations. Self-described as the World Authority on Complaining, Bowen has written two books on the subject and travels around the world as a motivational speaker. Bowen will be presenting three sessions on Monday, September 10:
- Complaint-Free Schools – Part 1
- Complaint-Free Schools – Part 2
- Positive Leadership in a Negative World
This is a significant opportunity for principals to learn about positive leadership and begin to create a complaint-free school climate.
The LAP Annual Conference will begin on Sunday, September 9 with a golf scramble, with conference registration beginning at 4 pm that afternoon. Conference sessions take place on Monday, September 10 and the conference concludes on Tuesday, September 11. For more information about the conference agenda, click here.
