The PBIS Rewards Student App
As a companion to the PBIS Rewards app, the PBIS Rewards Student App allows students to more fully participate in your PBIS initiative. All they need is to download the app onto a smartphone or log into the student web portal. Students can gain access to their information within the app by entering a QR code generated by their teacher through the PBIS Rewards app or by using one of our Single Sign-On (SSO) options.
What Can Students Do in the PBIS Rewards Student App?
Students have access to a finite number of features within the Student App. They can only view their own information. Within the app or on the web portal, students can:
- Check their points balance
- See positive comments from teachers and staff
- View store items and upcoming events
- Purchase items from school or classroom stores (if this feature is enabled by the school)
Schools using the SEL Check feature can enable the Student Self SEL Check feature within the app, allowing students to submit their own SEL check. Staff can monitor a student’s self-reported status and any notes they may have included. This feature allows schools to better monitor at-risk students and can offer de-escalation strategies to the student within the app.
For schools using the Behavior Referral System feature, students can use the Student App to view basic information about referrals they have received.
Tier II students can view the status of their Check-In/Check-Out (CICO) plan if the school has activated the CICO feature in the app. PBIS Rewards’ CICO feature eliminates paper forms and manual tracking of CICO plans. This can make it easier for Tier II students to stay on track and eventually progress into Tier I.
Involving Students in the PBIS Process
The PBIS Rewards suite of apps allows everyone – staff, admins, families, students – to participate more fully in their school’s PBIS initiative. For students, connecting positive behaviors with earning points can cement their investment in the PBIS process. By far, the biggest thing everyone is excited about is checking point balances! With PBIS Rewards, points totals are always accurate, and points cannot be lost like paper tickets can. Students can view the items available to them in the school store and set goals for using their points.
PBIS Rewards is a digital token economy that can assist your school in teaching students financial literacy. Students earn digital points which are tracked by the software in each student’s account. No lost or damaged paper tokens! The school store is easy to operate. In fact, many schools allow students to run the school store, teaching them valuable concepts such as inventory and purchasing.
