PBIS Rewards has gone Down Under!
PBIS is in use in schools and classrooms around the world, and our latest School Spotlight proves it! We recently spoke with Principal Karen Wood and Vice-Principal Melissa Searle of Movelle Primary School in Brimbank, Australia, near Melbourne. Movelle serves students from Prep to Year Six, typically known as K-6 in America.
Watch Part 1 of our conversation of Movelle Primary!
About Movelle Primary School:
In Part 1, Karen and Melissa share the beginning of their school’s journey with PBIS (known as PBS in Australia) and how they decided to join the PBIS Rewards family. Topics covered included:
- Recognizing the need for a different behavior system
- The challenge of physical tickets
- The need for data on behaviors
- Re-establishing and teaching behavioral values
- Using PBIS as the foundation for a schoolwide referral system
During the first half of our video visit, Karen and Melissa talked about how PBIS Rewards was a game-changer for their school culture. The digital system made it very easy to track and process data and made PBIS fun and exciting for teachers and students alike.
